Flossmoor Station really is one of the best truly small brewpubs. The brewer(s) are constantly innovating new variations of exciting and rare styles that make it always well worth the trip to taste their lastest artwork. I can sense the joy of brewing that comes from master who is actually at a job and in a scene he loves. Cheers!

they gave me the ten beer sampler but it included all 11 on tap! the gandy dancer, the red and the wheat beers were the best. fruit beers okay, but like purple haze the syrup flavor is almost perfumy. The stout tasted off, a waitress that wasn't even waiting on me asked about my beer and rectified it, apparently they don't spill the lines in the morning and mine was first one out.
As to the big question as to whether its worth the trip, the train ride from millenium station wasn't too bad, 30 mins, five bucks. Flossmoor didn't look like it had much else to do, though. I'd do it again, but only probably under similar circumstances (Flight got in at 9 am, hotel check in at 3)

My server, Becky, was very cheerful, polite and efficient. I knew I was going to enjoy everything here. My beers were great- one Oktoberfest and one Hoppy O something-- a hefty 10% brew which Becky mentioned before I had one-- in case I had to drive. So. Great beer, great food, great facility, intelligent and friendly patrons to chat with. All told- a fine experience well worth a repeat visit, as soon as I can return to the Chicagoland area.

Stopped in for dinner on the way to Evanston. Nice area, easy parking, cool building. I only had one beer, but it was very good. The food was OK, but not great.
The negative on this trip was the service and atmosphere. It was very noisy, and the service was quite slow. on this visit. I would return and give it another shot.

I've not tried all the beers here but the ones I have were all excellent and made other brew pubs seem mediocre in comparisson. The food is respectable. I've not been dissapointed though I wouldn't say it is their main attraction. The beer is. The beer is great! Also, teh atmosphere is pretty neat with the nostalgia of being the old Flossmoor Station. All around - the best of it's type. No need to go downtown for a brewpub when the station is right here.

My wife and I came here for her birthday (it's great when your wife likes a good brewpub as much as you). Food was excellent and the beer very, very good. I too wished the IPA was available - it must be popular. The Red and Nut Brown, however, were excellent so I can't complain.
Service was outstanding. And the railroad connection (including freight stopped alongside for a time) was a hit with my son.
Will be back with the beer buds.

This place is always on. My only complaint is that they never seem to make enough of the IPA. This prevents me from giving them an "Awesome". Every other time I go, there is no IPA. This has been going on for several years now. When will they learn to make more of it or add it to the menu of regular offerings? The IPA is awesome by the way. If you can't get it, you can never go wrong with a Red or a Gandy.

Not a fair review really as they were about to close, but from what I tried, it looks like a first rate bar. The IPA was very good and the atmosphere excellent. The bar maid was cleaning the taps after last call, and generally sweating the details about cleanliness of the bar area. This, in my opinion, is what separates the great from the mediocre ... DETAILS! My local brewpub doesn't clean as fastidiuosly and it tastes like it. The kitchen looked spotless as well. I'll definately come again when I have the chance and more time.

Ok!Had to stop in today. IPA was excellent! MMM... Grapefruity.Honey ale was very scary easy drinkin.Wheat ale was good and smooth but too tart for my taste.Red still my favorite,comes real close to an ESB.Mai ??? strong,too sweet,but The mouth feel and drinkability was pleasant.Nut brown was good,but too close to the stout.Every beer was very drinkable.fruit beers too fruity for me.Great job brewmaster.Soup was excellent,Service great,Parked right in front.see ya soon.

I had a couple of the recently released barrel aged Porter and Stout. I'm sure it's difficult to find space for this kind of craft brewing but they were fantastic. The soup is always excellent and a nice bowl with my brew is the sweetest thing. Parking is so easy as there are several hundred multi-use spaces at the train station. Since most people don't work the night shift downtown it's kismet. I like to walk about 50 yards a day but no more lest I drop below 185 pounds.

In reply to m petrarca, An IPA came on 12/24/04 at noon. Sorry you missed it. We served an IPA at least 5-6 months during 2004. Sorry you missed it. We had a Pale ale on from Sept. to December. Sorry you missed it. All beers are unfiltered at FSBC. Stationmaster Wheat is an unfiltered wheat beer. If you like Hefeweizens, stop by in late spring and you may find it here. Parking does suck-agreed. Finally, no "pumkiny" beers have been served here, but there may be an experiemnt next Oct. Starting in Jan. FSBC will have 11 beers on tap, surely there will be something non-fruity to enjoy. Stop and see us on a Friday Evening for an X-IPA, but hurry, it's rather popular. Cheers!

live in the area so I go there occasionally.Still get the sampler everytime I go.Like getting a taste of all of them.Dont care for all the fruit beers,BLAH! Never has an IPA,Pale ale,or UNFILTERED wheat when im there.Not honey wheat.Had his german wheat one time and too much banana flavor.Love the red ale,malty and will kick your butt.He can put out a good product but he should try to consentrate on perfecting the unfiltered wheats,IPA's,Pale ales,stouts,ect...not all that fruity,pumkiny,honey light crap.Just my opinion!bartenders are nice and do a good job.Nice place.Parking sucks.Had there high priced burgers.What can I say,Its just another burger.I will still go,and would recommend it.Nice glasses and growlers.

I've been to this great Brew-Pub, twice in the past month. This is by far one of the best places, regardless of your beer taste, to get a good beer. I've also had the opportunity to attend the 8th Anniversary Brewmaster dinner this past week; which totally blew my socks off. The food has always been perfect, the Beer to pair was equally as good. Goto Flossmoor, you won't be dissapointed.

I attended the 8th Anniversary dinner. Matt and Jaime put together a remarkable mixture of tasty food paired with several unique and interesting beers. It was quite the bargain as well as I would challange anyone to find a better deal for a gourmet 4 course meal including beer for $35! The most interesting beverage was the stout creek with a mixture of stout and cherry aged in wood- awesome! I heard of plans for more dinners in the future - I can't wait.

Nice Train Wreck. Where you hiding that stuff? Give it up. There's apparently a black market of F Station kegs out there. Anyone who went to the Aged Ale Fest at Delilah's and tasted 2-5 year old Barleywine and Imperial Stout will be on a quest now until he's sure it's all gone. I found the decor beautiful and the setting was quite pleasant. I was quite shocked that the previous reviewer would dare rate service based on these obviously strained conditions. He might just be THE Enemy to do that. Come and see the plentiful Cub fans suffer their usual roller coaster, uninformed ride to nowhere. See a pop fly by Sammy drive them wild. The food here is very good. The staff is veteran and professional. I guarantee it.
